SEASON OPENER PUSHED BACK TO THIS SATURDAY!
This Saturday at the Sprint Car Capital of the World is the 69th annual Pella Motors / KRAIG Ford Season Opener!
Friday Night, April 22 will be an open practice session from 7pm-9pm. Fans are welcome to watch for free from the grandstands.
With more than 60 sprint cars expected to compete on Saturday and it should be a great way to “push-off” the 2022 Knoxville Championship Series!
Everything you need to know for the season opener:
  • Pit Gates Open – 3:00pm, CT
  • Grandstand Gates Open: 5:30pm, CT
  • Hot Laps Begin: 6:15pm, CT
  • Ticket Prices: Adults – $15; Teens – $10; Children 12 and under – free. Tickets available at the ticket office on race day.
  • Pit Passes – $30
  • Pits will be open following the races.
  • Scanner Frequency for our announcers is: 454.5000
  • Small, collapsible soft-sided coolers are allowed.
  • Rubber or foam seat cushions are allowed and must be 20″ wide or less.
  • Not allowed: firearms, pets, bottles, glass and metal stadium seats.
  • Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted. Designated smoking areas are under the grandstands.

  • Race line-ups, results and point standings are available on the free Knoxville Raceway app.
Knoxville Raceway Increases Purses in 2022!
The weekly Knoxville Championship Series will now pay $5,000-to-win for all 13 410 main events this season and $625 to start. The 360 class will pay $2,000 to win and $325 to-start. Pro Sprint main-events will pay $650 to win and $125 to start. This is an overall increase of more than $134,000 across all three classes.
On top of the abundant purse structure, Knoxville Raceway will also distribute more than $166,000 in cash and $110,000 in prizes across the three classes in final 2022 championship point standings. The 410 track champion will again receive $20,000 in 2022, while the 360 class champion and Pro Sprint class champion will receive $8,000 and $1,000, respectively.
Facility Improvements Coming in 2022!
The Marion County Fair Association has approved an over $1 million upgrade in lighting to Knoxville Raceway! Musco Lighting will be phasing in new LED lights during May and June to improve the racer and fan experience! The current lighting system was installed 25 years ago in 1997.
At the Knoxville Raceway North Campground, a new $200,000 shower-house is under construction. This is a major upgrade for our campers who stay a half-mile north of the Fairgrounds! Also several trees were removed at the Campground to make way for additional camping spots that are always precious during the first two weeks of August!
Checkered Flag Concessions Special of the Week!
The first special of the 2022 season at Checkered Flag Concessions with be a Frito Pie Loaded Baked Potato!
A baked potato topped with chili, Fritos, cheese sauce and sour cream. Topping such as onions and jalapenos are available at the condiment bar.
Also available our the staples of the CFC menu, such as the famous tenderloin and chicken bites, along with nachos, burgers, hot dogs, fries, popcorn, candy, and more!
NASCAR Trucks are BACK!
For the second consecutive year the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will return to the DIRT here at Knoxville Raceway on June 18!
Truck Series regulars Ben Rhodes, Chandler Smith and Matt Crafton will be here to compete against a handful of “dirt ringers” once again. We already know that Dirt Late Model driver Tyler Carpenter raced his way into a ride with Niece Motorsports by virtue of winning the indoor Gateway Dirt Nationals in December.
