Schedule Released for NCRA Oklahoma Mods
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 31, 2010 – Midwest City, Oklahoma - While only five
events where scheduled and completed for the inaugural season for the
O’Reilly/NCRA Oklahoma modified division last year, the results must have turned
plenty of heads as twelve races line the sophomore season schedule for the
divisions six new tracks climbing aboard to schedule at least one event for the
2010 race season.
It all
kicks off on Friday and Saturday night, February 12-13 at Cowtown Speedway in
Kennedale, Texas with the tracks annual running of the February Fast 50 with
$2000 awaiting Saturday night’s feature finale winner. It will be the first ever
appearance at the famed quarter mile clay oval for the NCRA in the series 40
year history.
One
month later on Saturday night, March 13, it is on to Elk Citys I-40 Speedway in
Elk City, Oklahoma in a first of two events that are scheduled for the track,
which also runs under NCRA modified rules each and every Saturday night. The
series southern modifieds will also kick off their 2010 season on this night as
well.
Then
on Saturday night, May 15, it is back to Cowtown Speedway for the second of
three scheduled appearances of the year.
On
Friday night, June 11 the tour will be back at Elk Citys I-40 Speedway before
making their first ever appearance at Route 66 Speedway in Amarillo,
Texas.
A fast night is in store for Friday night, June 25, as It is on to
the famed and newly restored half mile oval of Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee,
Oklahoma, the very one located on the grounds of the Muskogee Fairgrounds. Long
time Muskogee area racers Dennis and Stanley Slater have purchased the facility
and have given it a total make over and will host their first NCRA sanctioned
event in years. From there it is on to another new stop for the Oklahoma
modified division, Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, Oklahoma where another
new owner, local area racer Jackie Green and family, have bought the quarter
mile oval and also given it a makeover of its own.
Lake
Country Speedway in Ardmore, Oklahoma will hosts its first ever NCRA sanctioned
event on Friday night, July 30, on what many call the best modified surface
around.
Cowtown Speedway will wrap up their scheduled races with NCRA on Saturday
night, August 14.
It
will then be on to the home track of the O’Reilly Auto Parts National
Championship Racing Association as 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas will welcome
the Oklahoma modified drivers on their first appearance at the track.
It is then all scheduled to come to a close on Friday and Saturday
night, October 15-16 as promoter Mark Brill brings the tour in for two nights at
Brill Motor Speedway.
A
total of sixty-four races in six states are slated for all five divisions
combined for the 40th anniversary season of the O’Reilly Auto Parts
National Championship Racing Association. To learn more about the history and up
