2010 NCRA Southern
Mod Schedule Released
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 31, 2010 – Midwest City, Oklahoma - Coming off of a
very successful eight race inaugural season last year, the O’Reilly/NCRA
southern modifieds will be back at it once again in 2010 with eight races being
scheduled for their sophomore season. All but one track will be back on board
but one new venue has taken its place in what will prove to be a very exciting
year for one of NCRA’s newest division. The tour was formally known as the
southern sport mods but officials have changed the name to become southern
modifieds.
For
the second year in a row, the season kicks off on Saturday night, March 13, at
Elk Citys I-40 Speedway in Elk City, Oklahoma. The series Oklahoma modified
division will also be competing for their point’s race on this night as well. A
special practice session for both is scheduled for Friday night, March
12.
Then
on Saturday night, April 24 it is on to the Mark Brill owned Brill Motor
Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma. Nearly one month later the track will host the
next scheduled event on Saturday night, May 22.
It is
then on to where the division got the notice from other states as they return to
the famed Hutchinson Fairgrounds in Hutchison, Kansas for the annual Hutchinson
Grand Nationals, on Saturday night, July 3. The division put on a very
competitive show and the front runners set the pace for the one of the best
Hutchinson Nationals for all divisions in recent memories. From there they
conclude the Independence Day weekend for a first of two stops at 81 Speedway in
Park City, Kansas.
Friday
night, August 27 is the next scheduled event for the southern modifieds at Elk
Citys I-40 Speedway before heading to a new stop for the division, Route 66
Speedway in Amarillo, Texas on Saturday night.
The
tour will close out their scheduled eight race season on Saturday night, October
9 back at the home of the O’Reilly National Championship Racing Association, 81
Speedway.
A
total of sixty-four races in six states are slated for all five divisions
combined for the 40th anniversary season of the O’Reilly Auto Parts
National Championship Racing Association. To learn more about the history and up
