Sooner Schedule Is Set

Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 26, 2010) – The American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS
Sooner Region is set to bring another year of exhilarating Sprint Car racing
action to the State of Oklahoma and beyond with another full slate of
competition in 2010.
The
ASCS Sooner Region is currently set for 14 nights of competition at nine
different tracks throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri, with one additional
date to be determined.
While
the majority of events will be within Sooner boundaries, the series will venture
to Missouri once to take on the Winged Outlaw Warriors and into Texas on a pair
of occasions to tangle with the ASCS Lone Star Region.
The
ASCS Sooner forces will kick off the 2010 campaign on April 24 at Creek County
Speedway in Sapulpa, OK, where they will return on July 31 and one additional
time that has yet to be determined.
Also
hosting the series three times in 2010 will be Lawton Speedway in the southwest
portion of the state.Other Sooner State
venues include Muskogee’s Outlaw Motor Speedway on a pair of occasions,
including the June 4 event in conjunction with the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series,
and returns to South Coffeyville’s Mid-America Speedway and Enid Speedway
Park.
A
night after the series first Outlaw Motor Speedway stop of the year on May 7,
the series ventures into “Show Me” territory for a WOW showdown at Springfield
Raceway.
The
ASCS Sooner and Lone Star forces will square off a handful of times as well,
including a two-night stand at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, on June
18-19, a Lawton Speedway stop on July 10 and then an RPM Speedway-Cowtown
Speedway weekend on July 16-17.
Joe
Wood, Jr., took the ASCS Sooner Region title back to Oklahoma City for the first
time since Danny Jennings claimed the crown in 2002, edging Glenpool, OK, shoe
Matt Covington by 32 markers for the 2009 title.
In its
19th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing, the American Sprint Car
Series brings the best of Sprint Car racing to approximately 100 different
tracks throughout 30 states and Canada.Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters,

nation.
